Academic Resource: The Divine Comedy

The Divine Comedy in was made in the early fourteenth century and completed in 1321, the year of Dante's death. The divine Comedy is consider the the greatest work of epic poetry ever composed. The poem is divided into three sections Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. The structure of the is made up of hundreds of songs, or better know as cantos, each being known as a masterpiece. The plot consists of Dante's journey throughout Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven to find redemption and love of both God and Beatrice his lover that he chased after her when she went to hell. In hell Dante experience the personification's of the Deadly Sins in his Journey through hell.
