During this week
Asbury did event called Summer Solstice to celebrate the first day of summer at
Asbury. So at the event residents were able to socialize, relax, and listen to
music during the festivities. The role of AVTV in regards to this event was to
record the event proceedings to be used to make a 10-15 min video for Asbury
View.
There was also clips of the
band that play a jazz style of music to the residents that also liked to
entertain the residents with Congo line and clarinet twirling.
During the event I was tasked with taking video footage of the guest
during the event and talk and mingle with the residents to get shots for the
video. The overall clips taken during the event where group shots of guests at
their tables, walking up to buffet line and few close up shots if they were
willing.

Now after
looking through the hour long footage and cutting then up into sections of
material to use I was able to make around a 14 min video on the proceedings of
the event to be shown on the program.
Then the process I made for the Summer
Solstice picked up three songs to work with as background music and to see the
band that played during the event. With the songs playing overlap some
background footage that also happened during the event and splice them into
songs when then slow points or the music fits well with the background footage.
The process of picking and choosing is
picking out pieces that maintain attention to the video so you I would grab
pieces of the band songs and add in background footage of the residents at the
event hanging out and talking to each other, going up to the buffet, or any
other fun experience to see the excitement of Summer Solstice.
